Distech Controls was founded in 1995 by award-winning entrepreneur Etienne Veilleux. Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, the organization serves multiple market segments through its worldwide business divisions, service offices and a superior network of Authorized System Integrators and Distributors. Distech Controls is a subsidiary of Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc.

    President
    Distech Controls
    • As President of Distech Controls, Martin  provides company-wide management and leadership, helping guide the global Distech Controls teams in the execution of growth-focused strategies, and the continued dedication to delivering innovative solutions for the HVAC and energy management markets.  
    • He also serves to promote operational and innovation synergies between Distech Controls and Acuity Brands

     

    Over the last 17 years, Martin has played an integral role within Distech Controls. Prior to joining the company, Martin served a Controls Project Manager within the building automation industry.

    Seeing the evolution of Distech Controls from a small start-up to an internationally well positioned and respected building automation manufacturer is a thrill that cannot be described.

  • Dan Flaherty
    Vice President, Sales and DCES
    • Responsible for all sales functions for Distech Controls, including SI and distributor channels, OEMs and strategic accounts
    • Oversees growth strategies including market presence for our products and solutions, relationships with our customer accounts, and new business development programs
    • Leads Distech Controls’ Energy Services division, working with Authorized System Integrators to secure and execute large scale projects, delivering consistent execution to end user customers


    Dan brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience, successfully leading go to market strategies for distribution, contractor, and agent channels in the HVAC, Security, and Fire Suppression industries.  He has held positions with Johnson Controls and General Electric, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, New York) in Computer Systems Engineering.

    Vice President, Controls, Applications & User Experience
    • Trevor Palmer, having joined Distech Controls in 2014, leads the company’s marketing, customer service, product management and engineering departments. 

    For more than 20 years, he has brought innovative concepts and energy management know-how to the industry, having held leadership roles in contracting, manufacturing and technical sales. Recognized as a building automation expert throughout North America and Europe, Trevor is instrumental in positioning Distech Controls as an industry leader in building automation technologies, while guiding the company’s strategic development, market expansion and product line diversification.

    Vice President, IOT Technologies
    • Directly responsible for the Application Development, Technical and Training  teams with indirect responsibility supporting Engineering, Product and Project Management roles.
    • Support business case development, oversees product development, product compliance, and technical support of Distech Controls’ global product portfolio

     

    With 30 years of building automation systems and services experience, Jim French joined Distech Controls in 2011. Jim has acquired a versatile background in a variety of roles working for large, multi-national organizations, as well as smaller companies. Jim was previously a Partner and VP Operations for a small system integration business.

    Coming from a tier 1 player in the controls industry, I am inspired to work for a quality minded, fast-acting, and customer focused organization with a proven track record for excellence.     Vice President, International Sales
    • Responsible for expanding Distech Controls' business and market awareness in in the Asia-Pacific region and Middle East

     

    Prior to his current appointment in September 2015, David served as Distech Controls’ Vice President of Asia Sales, after joining Distech Controls as Vice President Products and Marketing.

    With over 30 years of industry experience with global BMS companies, David’s previous experience includes branch management and sales leadership roles, a senior business development role with responsibility for emerging markets and global product division responsibility.

    For more than 15 years, Steve has been involved in various facets of product design and process improvement in the industrial, telecommunications, and building automation industries.

    • Responsible for leading Distech Controls' efforts in developing innovative products and leading solutions for the building automation and energy management market
    • Oversees the Documentation team

     

    Charles Pelletier joined Distech Controls in 2002 as a Building Automation System Engineer. Charles later moved into the position of Product Manager, where he was responsible for the introduction of several key Distech Controls products before being appointed Director of the department.

    Regional Sales Directror, East USA, Canada & Latin America
    • Responsible for sales development and for maintaining the existing client base for Distech Controls’ Partner Channel in Canada, USA and Latin America
    • Leads Distech Controls' Regional Sales Management team, who work directly with the company's network of Authorized Partners throughout the Americas.

    Tony brings more than 27 years of BAS industry experience to Distech Controls, with extensive know-how in the areas of sales, marketing, and business development. Having joined the team in 2014 as a Regional Sales Manager, Tony has been instrumental in producing significant growth for Distech Controls.  
  • Ryan Sen, Eng.
    Director, Customer Experience
    • Manages support functions essential to sales force productivity
    • Supports the sales organization and all corporate sales channels globally
    • Responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the assigned sales support organization, which includes both Business Development Managers and Solution Sales Specialists

     

    Ryan Sen joined Distech Controls in 2006 as the Quality Assurance Team Leader, gaining the necessary skills and experience to lead the customer facing departments. Ryan has estimating and design knowledge, as well as technical deployment experience of the EC-NetAX Building Management Solution, LONWORKS, BACnet, and Modbus protocols for building automation and control.

    The success of our customers as they leverage our technology offering and supporting infrastructure is what motivates me.  Essentially, I am inspired by the ability to empower end users with innovative solutions.

    • Creates and implements Technical Support/Training objectives to ensure performance standards are achieved or exceeded
    • Directly manages escalations to provide best practices for future releases
    • Manages the planning, coordination, and execution of all technical training for Distech Controls' customer base
    • Establishes and manages communication within and between departments—being the voice of customer to provide feedback to the appropriate teams

     

    With more than 15 years of experience in the support and training industry, Sam is NiagaraAX and Niagara Security certified, offering training for both of these platforms. He also implemented and continues to maintain the first knowledge base for Distech Controls, providing our clients with streamlined technical information.

    • Manages the Quality Management System and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Oversees the evolution of Distech Controls’ Information Systems and Information Technology infrastructure, in line with the organizational development and business requirements
    • Delivers and maintains effective reporting solutions to facilitate the decision-making process throughout all aspects of the business

    Over the last 6 years, Elisabeth has played an integral role within Distech Controls. Having initially started as an independent consultant in 2008, Elisabeth joined the company as Quality Manager the following year. Since then, Elisabeth has increasingly taken on Information Systems and IT responsibilities and was subsequently appointed Director of Quality and Information Technology in 2014.

    Distech Controls’ mission and long term objectives are clearly communicated to employees on an ongoing basis. This creates a very challenging and stimulating work environment where we come together as a team to achieve these common goals.

    • Plans, directs and coordinates project delivery and account management for the DCES team.
    • Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and customer experience of our strategic account projects.

    Scott brings more than 18 years of experience in the Building Automation Industry.  Most recently, Scott specialized in delivering integrated software solutions to the Data Center market and has held a variety of positons in Field Service, Engineering, Project Delivery and Solution Sales.
